The numbers on the scale are going down, down, down, and I'm feeling very encouraged. October 27th is my birthday, and I hope to give myself another five-pound weight loss as a gift. At this rate, it might happen. Apparently, my combination of keto, exercise, and intermittent fasting works! This morning I weighed 192 pounds. That means I've lost a total of seven pounds since the beginning of September when I began my journey and three pounds since my post last Monday. Fasting is becoming a little easier. I have not dealt with lightheadedness or any of the other faint feeling issues some cope with. However, I have dealt with hunger. I've not really gotten hungry for a long time, and I realize how strange that is. I remember eating when I was hungry, not because it was time. That is pretty interesting, I think. Is becoming hungry part of successful weight loss for me? Is feeling hungry my body's way of letting me know it is using excess fat to perform? I choose to believe that's true. By way of clarification, I do get hungry, but I'm not suffering at all. I'm not feeling ill with the hunger, and sometimes I use some of my favorite keto-friendly snack foods to hold me over. I also use water. Water's an important subject. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of water to my weight loss. When I begin feeling hunger pangs, I drink an entire bottle of water. It helps tremendously. I must add that I carry a bottle of water with me wherever I go and take drinks regularly and often. Also, it is essential to have a variety of delicious menu items. I am definitely doing that for myself. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy our evening meals together. Mine remain carb limited, but he might have carb sides. That's easy to accomplish. For example, one day, I might make a pot of red chili pinto beans or a skillet of Spanish rice. I freeze portions of each and bring them out for him as he requests, but other than that, he enjoys my keto meal components as much as I do. I'm adding my weekly menu today, and you'll see just how inviting it is to enjoy a keto meal if it is thoughtfully put together with flavorful foods!
